Zoran Djordjevic was approved by a plurality of 165 MPs, with eight against. Back in January, Russia proposed a missile defense program for defending Serbia from a possible NATO attack, like the one in 1999, in the future. Djordjevic's stance is ostensibly pro-Russian, and opposes Serbia breaking ties with Moscow to court Washington. Prior to becoming head of the Serb Defense Ministry, Djordjevic served as the country's first deputy defense minister, and before that the director of national armaments, the Serb government said in a statement.
